Dancers – this will be your first grade for second semester in dance. Please read the instructions carefully!
You are getting this assignment over the break for a couple of reasons. First of all, so that you have ample time to complete it. Secondly, this is valuable information for all of you and especially for those of you dealing with injuries right now. Also, when we come back from break, there are often multiple injuries due to everyone jumping back into dance full time after the long break. (Which is also why you were asked to write down ten things to do over the break to stay in shape). I want you to use this information to help prevent injuries as well as take care of existing ones.
BLOG POST ASSIGNMENT –
-go to thebodyseries.com website (this is the website that has been on my board for about a month and is a great resource for dancers)
-click on “Articles”
-complete article summary (details below) for “Dance Injury Perspectives” and then a second of your choice from the following – “Dance Injury Prevention Information”, “The Importance of the Breath”, “Soreness Versus Pain”
-post the two article summaries to your dance blog
–DUE DATE – WEDNESDAY 1/7/15 8:00 PM
Article Summary Guidelines –
– 2 articles – “Dance Injury Perspectives” (REQUIRED) and then second one of your choice from above list
–each article summary must be two paragraphs in length (5 sentences minimum per paragraph), 1st paragraph – summary of information in article, 2nd paragraph – how information relates to you personally – evaluating your habits/tendencies, ways you can use information in article
-please post article summaries separately – 1 blog post for each, titles of blog post should be title of article being discussed
– 2 separate posts, each 2 paragraphs in length
– Each post will be worth 50 points, for a total of 100 points and this will go in as a quiz grade the first week of second semester
