“To dance is to be out of yourself. Larger, more beautiful, more powerful. This is power, it is glory on earth and it is yours for the taking.” – Agnes de Mille
Welcome back dancers! We are so excited to see returning students and meet our new dancers next week! For those of you that I haven’t met yet, I am Ms. Eileen Edwards and will be your jazz teacher in Dance Studio 1. I wanted to post a few reminders to help you all feel more comfortable with the first days of school.
Week of August 3-7, 2015 –
– You will go to Homeroom first every day this week. Schedules will be posted in the studios and around school, but the main thing to remember is that you go to Homeroom first thing in the morning. Homeroom lists will also be posted around school if you were unable to come by school Thursday 7/30 and pick up your schedule and meet your Homeroom teacher.
– You will NOT be dressing out in dance clothes for the first couple days of school, so you do not need to bring your dance clothes until we tell you to do so. We will be going over our Handbook and Procedures for the year so that you understand everything that is expected in dance classes (including dress code and dancewear order information) and hopefully get all of your questions answered. Just come to the studios when you have dance on your schedule and we will meet together and get everyone on the right track!
-Every dance student needs a composition book (NOT spiral) for class. You don’t need to have it the first day, but I just wanted to let you know in case you are going shopping for school supplies this weekend so you won’t have to run back out to get that. Remember it’s tax free weekend!
Please feel free to come by the dance office or email me if you have any questions.
See you in the Studio !
