CONGRATULATIONS on a fantastic dance concert! I am very proud of the work you all did and hope you are as well. We spent months working on your dances, but that is not all you should take away from the show. You should have more knowledge of stage and theater etiquette, professional costume/hair/makeup requirements and overall performance qualities. As we were all reminded of last week, there are many details that go in to making a dance concert successful and your job as a dancer is to fulfill all of your personal responsibilities so that your performance can be something you are proud of. Now, in typical CCCEPA fashion, on to the next thing!
Curriculum Focus –
In classes the next two weeks we will be focusing on technique and dance history. We will also be doing some review for the final exam. Please start going over your notes, I will be handing back your Unit 3 worksheets so you can have those as we are watching videos and discussing the artists from this unit. DO NOT wait until the last minute to study for the dance final, it is too much information. You have three units for my class, and three for Ms. Denise. Start reviewing now so that you will not be overwhelmed.
Also, remember that you are still be evaluated for jazz skills grades until the last day of the semester. Make sure you are on time and present for class and if you are absent it is your job to ask about make-up work, if you don’t you will lose points.
