The following dances will be a part of the Black History Month Program on Friday, February 9, 2018. Remember that this commitment will also include Dress Rehearsals on Wednesday, February 7, and Thursday, February 8 after school as well. Any dancers/choreographers that have not seen Ms. Edwards for notes by the end of the day on Friday 1/12/18 will be cut from the show.
IMPORTANT – In order to make the program a workable length, the dances all must be cut to shorter lengths. I have put the required cut times in parentheses next to each piece title. There are NO exceptions to this requirement.
“1960 What?” (2:30 minutes)
“Run and Tell That” (2:30 minutes)
“Still I Rise” (1 minute), Tallie speaking poem
“Hip-Hop Duo” (1 minute)
“Hip-Hop trio” (1 minute)
“Freedom” (2 minutes) – see Ms. Edwards for costume notes
“I’ll Fly Away” – quartet working with Ms. Edwards, plan on rehearsing before school and at least once after school
ALL DANCES NEED TO BOOK STUDIO TIME FOR REHEARSALS, NONE OF THESE DANCES ARE CLEAN ENOUGH YET. Sign up sheet is in dance office.
